ID# 174-3 Smoky quartz crystal cluster with secondary translucent quartz growth on some faces.  Some minor damage to the tip of one termination.       Teller County, Colorado $50

Smoky Quartz with Secondary Quartz Growth

These smoky quartz specimens are from Teller County, Colorado.  The smoky color is all natural—the specimens have not been irradiated.

All of these smoky quartz specimens exhibit some secondary quartz growth.  Some call these crystals “healed” because the secondary growth often reforms faces or terminations where the original crystal was originally broken.  The nature of the secondary coating varies from sample to sample.

ID# 275-4 Large smoky quartz crystal, perfect double termination.  Secondary growth is translucent, covers much of the specimen, and forms one of the terminations.      Teller County, Colorado $45
