These smoky quartz specimens are from Teller County, Colorado.  The smoky color is all natural—the specimens have not been irradiated.

ID# SP2-765 Microcline, Smoky Quartz, and Albite on matrix.  Six microcline crystals exhibit manebach twins.  Arrows indicate orientation of twin plane.  Maximum dimension approximately 5.0” (127mm),

ID# SP2-724 Microcline, Smoky Quartz, Albite, Hematite after Siderite Pseudomorphs, and Specular Hematite on matrix.  Three microcline crystals exhibit manebach twins.  The specimen is dome-shaped, with the entire dome covered with crystals (difficult to show with photos).  Arrows indicate orientation of twin planes.
