Pseudomorphs—Hematite (or Limonite) after Siderite

These specimens are fine examples of pseudomorphs.  In these samples, an iron mineral (hematite or limonite) has replaced and taken the form of a carbonate mineral (siderite).  The result is hematite (or limonite) exhibiting rhombohedral form.  All specimens are from Teller County, Colorado
